Welcome to the Australian Women in Computing Site

Our Mission:

Australian Women in Computing was developed as part of the ACM's Committee on Women in Computing (ACM-W) Ambassador Project.

The aim of this web site is to provide information about women in computing in Australia and to present the programs and individuals that are involved in addressing issues relating to women in computing.

Funding for the development and some of the maintenance of this site was provided by the ACM-W. This site includes statistics from studies that show the number of women in computing over the years and provides resources on gender issues in general.

If you have information about Australian programs or references not available here, please contact us so we can add them.

Annemieke Craig awarded Shilling Wall tribute

The first ACM-W Australian Ambassador, and co-cordinator of VicWIC, Annemieke Craig, was presented with a Shilling Award of recognition. This was to acknowledge her tireless work to promote ICT careers and courses to women and girls for more than 15 years.

The award was presented at the Victorian ICT for Women Network's inaugural dinner, held earlier this month. A picture of Annemeike recieving her award along with other recipients are in the May Newsletter, available on this site.
